Glengorm Castle is almost too good to be true. Seeing it as you approach from Tobermory, four miles away, it is like something out of a fairytale. Mull is one of Scotland's most romantic islands, and the northernmost tip is set off beautifully by this magical castle.
There are six holiday cottages within the grounds or on the estate, plus a flat above the coffee shop and, in the castle itself, one apartment.
One of the cottages is The Lodge, which used to be the post office for the estate. Situated at the castle gates, it has its own garden. In early summer it is surrounded by rhododendrons and foxgloves in bloom. With a cosy wood-burning stove in the sitting room, charming and spacious bedrooms, a brand new bath and shower (following a recent upgrade) it is a delightful holiday base.
