These highland retreats, each located separately, are perfect for restful holidays for the stressed, romantic hideaways for the romantic, and, if it is outdoor activities you are after, there are plenty to have a go at in the surrounding areas from water sports to pony trekking, from mountain climbing to biking.
You can walk in the countryside straight from your cottage door and you will see interesting and rare wildlife living on Dunalastair Estate which is run with conservation very much in mind. There are buzzards, ospreys, eagles, red deer, roe deer, pine marten, otters, red squirrels to name but a few. The wild flowers are superb in late spring and the foliage colours in autumn must be seen to be believed. A camera is a necessity.
By the way, children and pets are very welcome.
