Swallow Barn is one of the four high-quality, well-equipped and comfortable cottages located around our own home (which is also our B&B), in the heart of rural North Devon. It is within walking distance of the village of Bradworthy. Just ten miles from some superb beaches, close to many wonderful walks, and with friendly local pubs offering good food, this is a great location in any season.
This beautifully renovated, traditional cob barn has thick walls and lots of beams, and has had a chequered history in its 300 years, most recently as one of the two village pubs. Like Nuthatch Cottage, which it adjoins, it is an 'upside-down' cottage, with its two bedrooms (a double and a twin) downstairs - as well as its well-fitted bathroom.
Upstairs is the sitting/dining room, which is full of character, with many of the original beams exposed. It has lots of comfortable sofas and armchairs and large windows overlooking the gardens.
