Good Holiday Cottages Guide

Suffolk Cottage Holidays

Converted coach houses, small barns, seafront cottages and imposing 'old world' rectories go to make up Suffolk Cottage Holidays' portfolio of around 80 cottages and larger houses. Whether you want a quiet hideaway in which to write or are planning a big 'get-together' with family, on or close to the Suffolk coast, the Suffolk and Norfolk Broads or Constable Country, we have the ideal property for you.

Cottages of Distinction - properties are chosen for their exceptional location, individuality, comfort or quality of furnishing and equipment.

On the Heritage Coast, in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Rose Cottage has been beautifully updated to provide luxurious and spacious accommodation for ten. Wonderful views of the sea and surrounding countryside, four bathrooms and a large farmhouse style kitchen with every convenience including an AGA cooker, open fires, wood burning stove and central heating make this the ideal cottage for those intent on getting away from it all. There is even a paddock for your ponies.

For anyone wanting to forget the pressures of city life, a visit to Lower Ufford will be a therapeutic step back in time.  A delightful conservation village; with traditional Suffolk cottages, attractive church, friendly and homely pub and the Deben river with its beautiful meadows and marshland walks will provide the perfect backdrop for a really relaxing holiday. Willow Farm Barn, Rose Cottage and Mousehole Cottage, all of which sleep 4, go that extra mile to provide a perfect combination of comfort, convenience and cosiness.

Just a few miles further north is Orford, perhaps Suffolk prettiest coastal village. A great location from which to explore and enjoy the secrets of the Suffolk Coast, Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold, RSPB Minsmere, and the National Trust reserves of Dunwich Heath and Sutton Hoo.

The Pump House (sleeps 7) has featured on many an Orford picture postcard and yet even this pretty cottage exterior does not prepare you for the delights of the extensive and attractive cottage within.  Every room has been finished with an eye for comfort and luxury; brass and four poster beds, three beautiful bathrooms, a state of the art kitchen and three exceptionally attractive reception rooms, with a delightful enclosed garden.

The Granary, Stables, Bothy and Hayloft - a complex of attractive barn buildings overlooking Orford's coastal strip within a minute's walk of both the water and the village centre.  These delightfully properties (each sleeping 4) have been finished to the highest quality. With so much to see and do on your doorstep these barns make the perfect setting for a really relaxing holiday at any time of the year.

Black Barn is a remarkably attractive fusion of the old and natural with the new and extraordinary. Designed by artist/owner Tony Yates, this spacious detached barn conversion provides excellent accommodation for two with year round comfort and warmth. Set in a four-acre rural oasis of peaceful, moated gardens, it provides a wonderful base for exploring the footpaths and byways of Suffolk, the Broads and coastal villages of Walberswick, Dunwich and Southwold.
