Bryn Frank, publisher of The Good Holiday Cottage Guide: 'The Beamish Museum is one of our favourites in the whole of England, and good self catering accommodation around it can be hard to come by. Riding Farm Cottages are only a short drive from Beamish, but the cosy cottages here also make a useful base for going further afield in a fascinating part of the country: Durham City, the Roman Wall, the beautiful and underrated South Tyne Valley. And even the fabulous Northumberland Coast around Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island make a great day trip'
There are six self catering holiday cottages, sleeping between 2 and 5. They are spacious and very inviting. Well equipped, with good quality interiors, five of them have ensuite bedrooms. Short breaks welcome. We are just three miles from the A1M, so access is quick and easy.
The farm also has its own network of footpaths cycleways and bridleways, all bursting with wildlife. Cottage guests can have breakfast in the farmhouse.
