Howscales lies in tranquil countryside in the heart of the Eden Valley (often described as Cumbria's best kept secret) Yet it is only 15 miles from the M6 motorway. It is an ideal base from which to explore 'the Lakes', the Pennines and Hadrian's Wall. Originally a farm, dating from the mid-17th century, its barns and byres have been sympathetically converted into five self-contained cottages that retain many original features. From their elevated position they all enjoy uninterrupted views across tranquil pastures and woodlands.
Ravendale, one of four properties, has 'reverse accommodation', with three double bedrooms, shower room and bathroom with separate shower on the ground floor. There's an open plan kitchen/dining area with a separate, spacious lounge complete with log stove.
Created from what was the main barn, this is a real cottage of character. It has distinctive arched facade and on the first floor, low arched windows and oak beams with a velux window. There are open views across the courtyard and rear garden.
