| Wanney Cottage is a beautifully renovated 19th century former quarrymans cottage, set high in the Northumberland countryside, north of Corbridge and Hexham, with spectacular open views towards the Cheviot Hills and Scottish Borders.
Situated in the heart of Northumberland the cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the ancient Roman sites of Hadrians Wall, Kielder Water and Forest, the beautiful Northumberland coastline with its deserted beaches, picturesque fishing villages and castles, and visiting the historic towns and villages of Hexham and Abby, Alnwick with its castle and gardens, and Rothbury with Cragside House and gardens.
Wanney Cottage sits on a private road in a quiet and peaceful location, although the local family friendly pub is only a 5-minute walk away. The area is ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities, including walking, bird watching, cycling, fishing, rock climbing, horse riding, golf and water sports.
Wanney Cottage offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for 3 to 4 people. The cosy lounge has a fireplace with wood burning stove and dining area. The sun lounge has a comfortable double bed settee with stunning views over open countryside. The well-equipped kitchen has all modern facilities and many extras for the more ambitious cooks among our guests.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with king size bed and one with adult size single bed, and bathroom with thermostatic shower over the bath. Outside is a large, private garden with seating, sun loungers and BBQ. To the front there are parking spaces for up to two cars .
We are child friendly and can provide highchair, cot and stair gates if required. Pets are welcome by prior agreement.
The cottage is privately owned; the owners live next door, being on hand for any queries or information. We take pride in making the stay of our guests as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
