| Half a mile from the delightful small town of Rothbury (good shops, pubs, restaurants etc), we are centrally situated for exploring the many delights of Northumberland. We are close to several National Trust properties, the nearest being Cragside and Wallington Hall, whilst Alnwick Castle and Brinkburn Priory are not far. We are also well placed for some of Northumberland's finest "gems"; the Roman Wall. the Cheviots, Bamburgh and Holy Island (tide details available). Newcastle, the Metro Centre and Beamish Museum are around thirty miles to the south.
The Pele Tower (pronounced Peel) is a Grade 11* Listed Building with origins c1350. We have a small 19th century wing which has been totally renovated for let as luxury self-catering holiday accommodation. This award winning property enjoys the English Tourism Council's highest grading - 5 Stars.
Set in its own grounds and surrounded by woodland, the accommodation comprises: two bedrooms (a double and twin singles both with TV's), bathroom with whirlpool bath, shower and shaver point, separate WC. Lounge/Dining room with wood burning stove, Teletext TV, Satellite, Playstation 2, CD/tape music centre and payphone plus a huge selection of books, videos, cd's, tapes and games.
Beautifully appointed kitchen with interesting features such as stone vaulted ceiling and flagged floor. Many amenities such as electric cooker, microwave, bread maker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, TV plus every labour saving device imaginable.
Electric heating throughout (all heating and electricity included in rental). Mountain bikes (4), golf clubs and barbecue are provided. Parking for two cars. Cot & high chair available. All bedding, towels & linen provided. Golf, horseriding, swimming pool and excellent walking country all nearby. Open April to October. Cost: £250 - £648 per week. Bookings Saturday to Saturday.
Children of all ages are welcome, but we regret that we are unable to accommodate pets nor smokers.
