Breamish Valley Cottages

Branton, near Wooler

Beautifully situated at the foot of the Cheviot Hills in the tiny farming hamlet of Branton, yet only half an hour from the spectacular Northumberland coast. Breamish Valley Cottages have been created from a fine range of stone farm buildings which surround a sheltered and attractive courtyard. Care has been taken to preserve the original character of the buildings as well as meeting the requirements of a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Traditional country furniture and furnishings have been used throughout and all the cottages have modern, well equipped kitchens.

A lot of thought has gone into the layout of the cottages and brief details are as follows:

Honeymug and Daneshill are two upside down cottages, both sleeping 6, with light and spacious sitting rooms, en-suite shower/wc plus separate bathroom. The Old Mill has ground floor accommodation and sleeps 5. The Hayloft sleeps 4. Cheviot, sleeping 4, has two bathrooms, and Near Brow sleeps 2.

There are five new luxury cottages, all providing ground floor accommodation. Souterpot and Heathery sleep 6, Coally Law and Nightfold sleep 4 and Castle Close sleeps 2.

A conversion of a small steading near Branton offers Hemmel House (sleeping 8) and Millers Hill (sleeping 6) very much on their own with superb views of the Cheviots.

Facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool with hot tub, sauna and steam room, solarium and well equipped gymnasium. Games room with pool, table tennis and table football. All weather tennis court, football field, putting green and croquet lawn. Fishing and pony trekking are available in the area, as well as several golf courses.

All the cottages have dishwashers and (except in Swallow) washer dryers, satellite TVs, videos, CD/radios, telephones and well stocked bookshelves. Wood burning stoves (logs included if required) and oil-fired central heating. Bed linen and towels provided. High chairs and cots can be supplied. Visit Britain 4/5 Stars. Cost: about £325 to £1790 depending on which cottage and when you book. Short breaks available from November to March. Sorry, no dogs.
