These are eight very sympathetic conversions of one-time farm buildings within 36 acres of the Northumbria National Park, and each one feels private and self contained. All have baths, and almost all have shower too. There are deep-pile carpets, subtle lighting, solid beds (five-feet wide in some cases), expensive fabrics, excellent insulation, last-word kitchens. There’s an indoor leisure centre, a warm and inviting pool, an antique full-sized snooker table, a gym, solarium and games room.
Writes The Good Holiday Cottage Guide, 'One of our readers wrote to say she’d not expected to find holiday cottages quite so comfortable and with such extensive facilities in such a desirable location. They are on the edge of the ‘wild and woolly’ Cheviot Hills, but with some of the finest and least-crowded beaches in Britain little more than half an hour’s drive away.
Some details:
The cottages range from a one bedroomed sleeping just 2, plus baby, to four cottages that sleep 4 and three that sleep 6 (one of those actually 4 ‘plus 2’). Two of the sleeps-six cottages have a communicating door, therefore sleeping up to twelve. All have baths, and almost all have shower too. Several have ensuite facilities; some have two bathrooms and several have a bathroom with a separate shower room. Some have farmhouse type kitchens with the dining area in the kitchen. There’s an indoor leisure centre, a warm and inviting pool, an antique full-sized snooker table, a gym, solarium and games room.
