| Says 'The Good Holiday Cottage Guide', 'Townend Cottage is tucked well away off the road between Helmsley and Scarborough. The owners are kind and welcoming, the accommodation cosy and well planned.'
Part of a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, it stands on the edge of the North York Moors and is less than an hour from Scarborough and York. With its Baxi open fire and soft lighting it's notably cosy in winter and autumn. All is tastefully decorated and furnished, with double glazing and gas fired central heating. A feature has been made of some internal stone walls and there are oak beams to add character. People like the wide staircase, the new downstairs loo and the big main bedroom.
