We have superbly situated cottages on a family-run farm in the North York Moors National Park. There is good access to the beach and fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay, one of the most loved and attractive places in North Yorkshire. Visitors have access to some fine horses for year-round hacking over beach, heather moors, fields or forest. Cows and calves, horses and donkeys graze the fields and the rare breed Maran hens and ducks strut about the gardens.
The four Mews Cottages (all rated Visit England Three Stars) share a pretty garden incorporating fruit trees. They are reasonably priced and sleep 2 to 5 people. The kitchens and bedrooms have recently been refurbished. Living room heating and bedlinen included.
Four Star Mistal Cottage sleeps 4 in a double and twin rooms. There is a large sitting/dining room with fuel-burning stove, kitchen with dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, cooker, fridge and freezer; storage heating in all rooms included. Private hire of the small swimming pool (20ft by 8ft) with inflatables, within a log cabin, can be arranged for guests in Mistal Cottage only. Linen, towels and bath robes provided.
Farsyde House, sleeping 8, is a very special 17th century Grade II* listed building, with a large kitchen, living room, dining room, downstairs cloakroom/wc, three bedrooms - one with a spacious en-suite, family bathroom, many original period features, full central heating and open fires, garden.
Writes 'The Good Holiday Cottage Guide': 'Just six miles from Whitby on Yorkshire’s spectacular ‘Heritage Coast’, these cottages are close to the fine old fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay. You can walk to the village and beach (partly sand, with rock pools and famous for its fossils ) in a few minutes. We know them well and can assure visitors of a warm and friendly welcome. We also note that no pesticides or artificial fertilisers are used on the farm'.
