According to the editor of The Good Holiday Cottage Guide, who has visited Cliff House, these properties are among the best in Yorkshire. Within five acres of land there is a walled garden, a pyramid-shaped treehouse, secret wooded gardens, a trout pool, a games room, plus toddlers' play area.
Cliff House stands on the A170, giving easy access to Scarborough and the heritage coast to the east and Pickering and Helmsley to the west, with the North York Moors on the doorstep.
Cost: about £200 to £895. Linen, towels and heating included. TVs , DVDs, videos. Sorry no pets.
