This former Baptist Chapel, built in the 18th century, has been converted into an attractive and spacious cottage. The original door leads through a small stone flagged porch into a tiled kitchen, with a pleasant outlook on to a walled courtyard area with trees and plants. There is an oil fired Rayburn for cooking which also warms the kitchen. A pine dresser, table, chairs and kitchen cupboards complete the country look.
Also on the ground floor there is a twin bedroom and a large bathroom with bath, basin, lavatory and separate shower cubicle.
A utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, airing cupboards and the central heating boiler - an excellent place for drying wet walking clothes and dogs!
A staircase leads up from the kitchen to a pretty sitting room overlooking the courtyard towards the neighbouring fells. There is an open fire, original beams, comfortable seating, a television and DVD player. Free WiFi.
The passage leading off from the sitting room features the original stained glass windows and a large bookcase, with a wide range of books to suit most tastes. There is an adjoining fire door at the end which is kept locked at all times, unless the property is let along with Mossgill Loft [link].
A double bedroom with standard size double bed and en-suite bathroom leads off the passage. We supply a cot and high-chair free of charge, but a Z-bed with linen for another child will be £10 extra.
Outside, there is a paved area with garden furniture and a fuel store. Parking is over the wall on some mown grass. There is the use of the owner’s tennis court on request and you may put bicycles in our barn where they are secure.
