Ten miles west of Truro and about seven north of Falmouth, these two granite stone holiday cottages are in a peaceful woodland setting next to the River Kennall, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of a World Heritage Site: it is the site of historic water-powered mills dating from the 15th century.
The waterside cottages (Office and Stables) are beautifully restored, with wooden floors and hand-made kitchens, and include many original features. Outside there are riverside seats and attractive gardens around a mill leat. Visitors can walk in the private nature reserve, which features a wildlife conservation lake and bluebell woodland. This is part of the forest garden network set up by the Agroforestry Research Trust. Tours are available of the newly established organic forest garden project.
Kennall Vale Mill Cottages are in a peaceful setting with country walks from the door, but within an easy drive to the north and south coasts of Cornwall and the cathedral city of Truro.
Visitors will receive a friendly welcome from the owners, and there will be an organic tray with fresh flowers and homemade Cornish biscuits for guests on their arrival.
