Bainbridge is a picturesque village between the market towns of Leyburn and Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It boasts a wide sweeping village green (complete with stocks!), and there's a good pub, a tearoom, a village shop and Post Office.
Surrounded by dramatic and breathtaking countryside, the cottage is an ideal base for walking or touring the Dales. Johnnie's Cottage is a romantic stone built house lovingly restored to offer luxury accommodation for two people. Once part of the village store, with many original features such as beamed ceilings and pitch pine floors, it is furnished with Victorian pine and Laura Ashley prints.
The open plan ground floor has a cosy lounge, dining area and a stunning range of cream kitchen units. A wood burner and electric stove have been installed for chilly evenings. The oak flooring has plenty of rugs and there's a flat screen TV with built-in DVD along with CD player and radio. The original wide wooden staircase leads up to a double bedroom with two sash windows overlooking the village green, and a beautiful spacious cream-panelled bathroom with bath, large shower cubicle and electric towel rail.
There is room to sit out, with table and chairs, on the flags outside, and parking is just by the cottage door. There are plenty of lovely walks right on the doorstep. Sorry - pets are not allowed in this cottage.
