Whiddy Island

 Whiddy Holiday Homes are very special and getting to them is a pleasure. Board a small ferry across beautiful Bantry Bay, fringed by green hills, to Whiddy Island; just ten minutes on the water, but a world away.
The island is a little paradise of peace and quiet, rich in flora, with properties of a very high standard. They mostly overlook the sea or stand by a freshwater lake, half hidden by fuchsia, the summer trademark of West Ireland.
All linen and towels are included. TV. Dogs welcome. Cost: £185 to £545, depending on which cottage (sleep 4, 6 or 8) and when. Though two are close to each other, all feel private.
 On the island there is a restaurant, a pub, tennis, mini golf, a children's playground, boats, surfboards and bicycles.
