Situated in the heart of the Durham Dales, this charming, pet friendly, holiday cottage has all modern facilities, yet retains many period features including exposed timber beams, wooden floors, sash windows and original fireplaces.This 17th century Grade II listed building is one of the oldest in the village which as the name suggests once was the residence of the innkeeper.
After a day spent exploring the dales settle down in front of the log burning stove and relax in the sitting room which is ideal for cosy evenings. The country style kitchen has been hand made by local craftsmen in solid pine, the traditional Belfast sink and a quarry tiled floor add to the ambience. The large bedroom has a sumptuously comfy double bed with a feature fireplace. All rooms have been tastefully furnished.
There is a small raised garden to the rear, overlooking fields, with patio furniture, there is car parking directly outside the cottage. Facilities include TV/video, radio/CD player, DVD player, hairdryer, a selection of games, videos, books and CDs, bed linen and towels provided. Non-smokers only. One well behaved pet welcome.
Frosterley has a range of amenities including a local foodstore with Post Office, passenger steam railway, fish and chip shop, and two pubs serving food. Stanhope and Wolsingham are nearby.
