Howscales lies in tranquil countryside in the heart of the Eden Valley (often described as Cumbria's best kept secret) Yet it is only 15 miles from the M6 motorway. It is an ideal base from which to explore 'the Lakes', the Pennines and Hadrian's Wall. Originally a farm, dating from the mid-17th century, its barns and byres have been sympathetically converted into five self-contained cottages that retain many original features. From their elevated position they all enjoy uninterrupted views across tranquil pastures and woodlands
Formally the milking parlour, Hazelrigg is a comfortable cottage for two. It's a single-storeyed cottage with one large double (twin by arrangement) and an en-suite wet room with little extras like toiletries. An additional bed can be added for a child.
With its easy access and wide doorways Hazelrigg has been designed and equipped for wheelchair users.
It has a cosy, comfortable lounge with a log stove for those chilly evenings, and a well equipped kitchen/dining area. It's a light and spacious cottage, getting both morning and evening sun with stunning views over the garden and towards the Renwick and Alston Fells.
