This cottage has a huge sit-in fireplace with a glass-fronted, log burning stove, as well as full gas central heating. The open plan lounge, the well equipped farmhouse style kitchen and dining area have a wealth of exposed beams and stonework. The conservatory opens on to a south facing patio and to the extensive gardens beyond. The double staircase leads to the minstrels gallery and on to the three bedrooms. The double bedded room has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, and the two twin bedded rooms share a bathroom with bath and shower.
Kirkland is a small hamlet of two farms, six houses, a church dating back to the 11th century and our house and cottages 200 yards up the road from the church. Kirkland and all the surrounding land was given to a Norman Knight, William Le-Flemming, by William the Conquerer in or around 1070. Most of the land was sold off over the centuries but our small farm remained in the Le-Flemming family until we bought it in 1975.

Haybarn is one of the four award-winning Kirkland Hall Holiday Cottages. The others are Shearers, Stables and Beck

Sorry, no dogs except in Shearers.
