The Cart Lodge

St Osyth

Spacious converted Cart Lodge with great views
Private enclosed patio area
Sleeps up to 11
Open all year
Secluded peaceful location

Situated alongside our livery yard in a peaceful location away from the main farm. There are pleasant walking and cycling opportunities around the farm and village. Free passes to fish our reservoir are available, passes for nearby nature reserves, with superb bird watching opportunities are also provided.

The Cart Lodge has a large entrance hall from which there is a large utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airer and freezer. Leading from the entrance hall is the kitchen (including dishwasher), dining room and the large lounge.  The accommodation offers a large downstairs family bedroom (double and single beds) with en suite shower room, all with full wheelchair access. On the first floor there are two twin rooms, a family bathroom, one double room with en suite and a large gallery with sofa bed. The views over the marshes, farmland and Colne/ Blackwater estuaries are excellent from the gallery.

The Cart Lodge is set within a now partly redundant farm yard at the end of a quiet lane, 1.6 miles from the village centre where there are numerous services including three pubs, post office, two shops, three restaurants, hairdressers and a florist to name some.  There is a nearby convenience store at the end of the lane.

Bus routes run to both Clacton-on-Sea (5.9 miles) and Colchester (13.7 miles) from here. Colchester, Britain's oldest recorded town offers much for those interested in architecture, history and shopping plus a very good zoo.  Trains to London from Great Bentley are frequent and take a little over an hour.

The location makes an excellent family base for the many sights of the Essex and Suffolk coastline, countryside and the numerous tourist attractions.
