Ellary is a highland estate on the peninsula formed between Lochs Sween and Coalisport. It is practically surrounded by water, with sandy beaches, islands and islets.
Our properties have been updated, modernised and maintained to an high standard over the years. All except Cove Cottage are within a stone's throw of the sea. The cottages all stand in their own grounds, offering privacy and seclusion, and are equipped with everything that you are likely to require on your holiday. Washing machines, microwaves, fridges and freezers, TV's (with free satellite channels) are all included. All you need to bring are your towels and bedlinen. Open fires and night storage heating are provided in all properties with the exception of Turbine House which has underfloor heating throughout and no open fire.
All properties have access to the internet which is charged separately and all electricity is metered. Payphones are installed in each cottage as there is no immediate mobile phone reception. Fishing permits can be purchased from the Estate Office.
You are right in the middle of the most attractive part of Scotland's west coast. Day trips might include Fort William and beyond to the north and, to the west, ferry trips to Arran, Gigha, Islay and Jura, Mull and Iona. Such excursions might be to visit some of Scotland's most famous gardens (Brodick, Achamore, Arduaine, Crarae etc.), a trip on the steam locomotive from Fort William to Mallaig, a game of golf or a visit to a distillery on Islay, a day ski-iing at Glencoe or Aonach Morry.
