Tilly's Cottage in All Saints Street is a cosy Victorian Cottage in one of the oldest and most photographed streets in Hastings. Some of the buildings date back to the 15th century - Tudor period.
The accommodation comprises one double bedroom, and one twin bedroom, plus a pullout z-bed. A new modern first floor bathroom with bath with electric shower, sink and toilet. A comfortable lounge with colour TV, DVD, VHS player and radio. Large kitchen/dining room, equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine. There is also a downstairs bathroom with a bath, shower, sink and toilet. A small sun lounge with cane settee and armchairs.
The stepped garden, which is maturely planted with a variety of pretty trees and shrubs, has two patio areas with seating and rooftop views over the Old Town, towards the West Hill and Castle.
A two minute (flat) walk will take you to the beach and The Stade Fishing Harbour where you can watch the boats unload their catch, and buy fresh fish from the fish market. Also in this area, known as Rock-a-Nore, you will find the Blue Reef Aquarium, The Shipwreck Heritage Centre, The Fishermen's Museum, as well as an assortment of shops and cafes.
The seafront promenade runs from the Stade alongside the beach all the way to St. Leonards, it is completely flat and is great for walkers and cyclists.
Also a two minute (flat) walk away is the Old Town High Street with art galleries and curio shops to browse, and a fine selection of cafes and tea shops. The High Street is home to the quaint and the totally unique Electric Palace Cinema - well worth a visit. Leading off the High Street just behind the seafront is George Street famous for its antiques and off the wall shops and its bistros and wine bars.
Through the cottage garden gate, a five minute walk will take you to the top of the East Cliff and Hastings Country Park (or you can use the East Cliff Railway lift). From here walkers are offered miles of cliff top tracks to ramble with spectacular views of the English Channel and Beachy Head.
Another two minute (flat) walk away is the very popular Stables Theatre where some excellent plays and productions are staged.
Enjoy a stroll around tiny winding streets of Hastings historic Old Town, where the television programme Foyle’s War is filmed. You will see the locations including Detective Foyle’s House.
