Cottages in Suffolk tend to be much used by the owners themselves, and are comfortable and visitor-friendly. Self catering in Suffolk can mean being deeply rural but not isolated. We think of cottages in Woodbridge, Framlingham, Tunstall, Butley. Suffolk cottages by the sea tend to be in such places as Southwold, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Orford (that's 'near' the sea!) or less well known locations: we know lovely cottages in or near Walberswick, Westleton, Sudbourne.

To the west, some of our own favourite Suffolk holiday cottages are, typically, in villages and small towns such as Lavenham, Kersey, Long Melford and Hadleigh. Suffolk also has some fine big holiday houses, just right for family groups or house parties.
