Drumblair is a comfortable base from which to explore the Scottish Border, its rivers, hills, moorland and historic abbeys.
The bungalow has a double room (king-sized bed) with en-suite ‘spa’ bath, and a twin room with en-suite shower. The spacious sitting/dining room has superb views of the Eildon Hills, and the modern breakfast kitchen is roomy and well equipped. There is an enclosed garden and space for bicycles and for drying outdoor clothes. flat-screen TV, DVD and CD players, and a selection of DVDs, board games, books and magazines.
The attractive village of Gattonside is situated just across the River Tweed from Melrose (a fifteen minute walk via a pedestrian bridge over the river) and has two very good restaurants. The small town of Melrose has an excellent selection of small shops and eating establishments. It is renowned for its historic Abbey and is very convenient for visiting all the local attractions (e.g. Abbotsford House, Thirlestane Castle, Dryburgh Abbey etc). Edinburgh, Holy Island and the Seabird Centre at North Berwick are about an hour's drive.
