Lilac Cottage is a 200 year old beautifully renovated Derbyshire stone cottage in the heart of the Peak District National Park between Buxton and Bakewell. Tucked away in a quiet country village, there are numerous walks straight from the door and a friendly local pub serving good home cooked food both lunchtimes and evenings.

The spacious detached holiday cottage sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms and retains many original features including exposed wooden beams and a working open fire. With its 20ft master bedroom, state-of-the-art bathroom, beautiful country kitchen and south facing garden, Lilac Cottage is the perfect place to get away from it all, yet is centrally located for exploring all the sights of the Peak District.

Chelmorton is just 4 miles from the beautiful spa town of Buxton and 6 miles from Bakewell, lined with cobbled streets and of course the Bakewell pudding shop. We're also within easy reach of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall and for our younger guests, we're 20 minutes from the Heights of Abraham and Gullivers Kingdom and only 40 minutes from Alton Towers.

For those looking for an active holiday, there is safe, off-road cycling on the Tissington and Monsal Trails, golf, climbing, archery and caving nearby and of course some stunning walks - from a stroll down the Wye or Goyt Valleys to a hike up Kinder Scout. For everyone else, there are some great tea shops, restaurants and country pubs with roaring fires!
