The Hayloft

Cartmel & Grange-over-Sands (Cumbria and the Lakes)

The Hayloft is a luxury holiday cottage converted from a traditional limestone threshing barn in the stunning South Lakeland Cartmel Peninsula.  It blends original beams with contemporary use of natural materials, all beautifully draped in Sanderson and Laura Ashley fabrics.

Accommodation
Offering a complete escape or a luxury base for exploring the Lake District, The Hayloft sleeps 7 (there is also a lounge-based sofa bed) in a sumptuous ground floor four-poster double, a pretty upstairs double and a triple sleeper (4ft double and 3ft single).

The Hayloft features a jacuzzi corner bath and downstairs power shower room; a bespoke oak and black granite farmhouse kitchen; a relaxing garden room overlooking enclosed lawn, borders and stone stable (now a games and laundry room) and upstairs galleried lounge capturing views of Morecambe Bay.

* Tourist Board 4 star grading * Central heating & gas woodburner-style stove * Linen and towels included * Dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine & dryer * TV, DVD & Freeview * Cot, highchair, stair-gates * Games Room with table tennis and darts * Parking for 2/3 cars * Cycle storage * Pets allowed (£10 each).

Attractions
The Hayloft is located in Allithwaite, a pretty village within 8 miles of Lake Windermere and a short scenic lakeside drive from Bowness-on-Windermere and the heart of the Lakes.  Good roads lead to the market towns of Kendal and Ulverston or the nearby Yorkshire Dales.

Alternatively, follow one of many walks passing the door and discover the unspoilt beauty of the Cartmel Peninsula.  Within 2 miles find Cartmel and its famous 11th Century Priory, steeplechase racecourse and celebrated Sticky Toffee Pudding Shop or the Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands, complete with promenade, Ornamental Gardens, tea-rooms and shops.  Head west along the Cumbria Coastal Way (which almost passes the door) to Flookburgh, famous for shrimps and cockles, and award-winning Holker Hall.  Or simply stay at home and walk a few yards to a pub with open fire!
