Rubys Cottage is situated on the outskirts of Sedbergh which has recently been designated Book Town of England. The cottage, which is Grade II listed and part of a former Mill, has been renovated to a high standard providing cosy accommodation for up to four people. However, due to the open beck (stream) at the rear, the cottage is not considered suitable for children. Tastefully decorated, the lounge has a traditional appeal with stone flagged floors, a range - including original ovens and open fire. There is a kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom, parking space and rear seating area by the beck with views to the surrounding fells.
In the immediate area The Howgills offer 40 square miles of walking country suitable for the beginner and experienced walker alike, with several summits of over 2000ft. Whilst at low level there are many picturesque walks by the local rivers of the Clough, Dee, Rawthey and Lune.
Sedbergh offers a good range of shops for everyday use plus several specialising in a diverse range of books and memorabilia. A book related festival is held in August and September offering art, drama, literary and music events.
The Lakes and Dales Tourist Information in Main Street has a wide array of visitor attractions and days out making Ruby's Cottage an ideal base to explore the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales
The cottage is let by the week Saturday to Saturday. Prices are £300 - £490 and short breaks are available November to March (except Christmas New Year and Half Term).
Prices and availability are on Ruby's Cottage website.
