Location Crosby Garrett is a most appealing conservation village in the Upper Eden Valley, with the fells only a few yards beyond. An excellent area for walking, both long and short distances, being only two miles from the Coast to Coast route and near the Pennine Way. The Cumbria Cycleway is just a mile from here and Smardale Nature Reserve is within half an hour's walk.
The market town of Kirkby Stephen caters for every need and is notable for its many antique shops. A nine hole golf course is situated between the village and Kirkby Stephen. A number of famous gardens and historic houses lie within a 45 minute drive of the village. Fishing permits for the River Eden can be obtained locally.
