We created Hideaways 20 years ago with the aim of bringing the personal, friendly service back into letting holiday cottages. We all live in and around the village of Hawkshead that we love so much. We pride ourselves in knowing our cottages inside and out, and are able to describe everything from the view from the windows to the easiest walk to the nearest pub.
We are pleased to be able to offer over 60 properties - so whether you want a romantic, cosy cottage or a property big enough for that special family gathering - we have cottages to suit your needs - many offering free fishing and welcoming pets.
Knipe Fold Cottage - sleeping 6 - a beautiful detached property newly redeveloped with great flair by local craftsmen. It incorporates eco - friendly technologies with all modern conveniences whilst keeping the cottage character and charm.
Broomriggs - sleeping 2-6 - a stunning country house converted into apartments. It has fantastic views across the lake to the mountains and is surrounded by mature gardens and woodland. Lake frontage and rowing boats and only a mile from the village.
Croft Head - sleeping 8 - is a beautiful 17th Century detached cottage just 3/4 mile from the village, in the hamlet of Colthouse. This is a real gem of a property set in a quiet rural location with its own well cared for garden and fabulous views
