Self-catering in Cumbria tends to be in beautifully situated locations.
Many of the region's holiday cottages are close to 'the lakes', are full of
character and have log fires. Typical Lake District holiday cottages tend
to be deeply rural and quiet but fairly easily accessible too. Holiday
houses by a lake are of course most people's first choice, but self
catering in Cumbria can also mean having a traditional holiday cottage
nicely hidden away in great privacy among the fells.
