Barn House is a barn conversion which has been renovated to a high standard by the owners who live nearby. This unique self catering property combines a traditional Lakeland cottage with modern comforts to provide an ideal home from home.
The Accommodation
Downstairs there is a spacious lounge with original oak beams, an open fire (with screen for children), two comfortable sofas, TV, video and DVD, and french doors opening on to the patio. To the side of the lounge there is a dining area with table and chairs. The large, fully equipped kitchen has a further table and chairs for more informal dining. Leading on from the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer, and separate w.c. Upstairs there are three good size bedrooms – two doubles and a twin. The master bedroom has a wrought iron bed and pine furniture. There is also a family bathroom with bath, shower, w.c. and sink. Private parking is available next to the property and storage is available for bicycles.
Situation
The property is situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Braithwaite, two miles from the Lakeland market town of Keswick on Derwentwater. The village is overlooked by the Coledale Horseshoe, an impressive semi-circle of Lakeland fells which is a famous walking route. There is a shop within the village, along with two pubs serving home cooked meals and Cumbrian ales. Keswick has a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and galleries. There is also the famous Theatre by the Lake. Bassenthwaite Lake is approximately four miles away and Buttermere and Crummock Water are only a short drive away.
There are superb walks from the door round the Coledale Horseshoe, up Newlands Valley or over Whinlatter Forest. There are also mountain bike trails through the Forest.
