In its magical Cotswold valley setting, surrounded by private woods and hills, Owlpen has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England..
One of the nine holiday properties here, Court House is a charming 'garden building' of about 1620, Grade I listed. Encapsulating the romance of Owlpen, it has been imaginatively converted to create a chic little cottage that's more like a dolls' house.
Situated next to the Manor gardens, the diminutive property, with its quirky period charm, is a favourite with history and architecture-lovers. Downstairs, it opens directly into a little garden loggia restored as an attractive dining room. The glass doors, divided by a simple Tuscan column, frame the view of the east wing of the manor house and its yew trees immortalized. The small open-plan kitchen leads from the dining room. The bathroom lies beyond, with a bath and overbath showerhead. The cottage is centrally-heated.
