We have six wonderful holiday cottages situated in a outstanding location, with views of the Simonside Hills and Cheviots beyond. We are adjacent to Rothbury Golf Course and walking distance (0.9 miles) from Rothbury. This is a pretty village with a first class butchers, bakers, tea shops, delicatessen and a Co-op open until 10pm 7 days a week. The cottages are of the highest quality with all mod cons that you will require: dishwasher, washer/drier, satellite tv/dvd. Wood burning stove with a basket of logs waiting for you on your arrival.
The six cottages are individually designed and set in their own courtyard development but in two acres of private land. Their renovation in 2008 saw them become 21st century properties but with the charm of the traditional 18th century barns with exposed beams and feature arched windows. Even the smallest cottage, Hotspur, has a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom. separate shower, a utility room and log burning stove with a complimentary first basket of logs.
We offer golf packages and all customers of Carterside have exclusive use of the club house for meals and drinks. Fishing is available on the River Coquet and we can offer Fly Fishing packages. Dogs are welcome in Collingwood and Bewick cottages.
Writes Bryn Frank, editor of The Good Holiday Cottage Guide, ‘We were delighted to come across good-quality properties in the all-too-often overlooked riverside town of Rothbury. This makes a very good jumping off point from which to explore the northern part of Northumberland, including the coast, but it is a charming place in its own right.'
