Beck is a detached single storey barn conversion with a wealth of beams and exposed stonework. The arched stone fireplace houses a glass-fronted woodburning stove which backs up the gas central heating. The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge open on to the large informal wildlife garden. The double bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom with a bath and a shower.
The Lake District Fells and panoramic views of the Eden Valley are the backdrop to Beck and to our other three self catering holiday cottages. Each cottage was created from a range of ancient stone barns, a project which has been voted 'the best barn conversion in the North of England'.
* Slightly apart from our other cottages beside a tumbling beck (stream), and in its own wildlife garden, this rather special cottage has featured (for January) in a Country Living Magazine Calendar. See also Haybarn, Shearers and Stables.
Sorry, no dogs, except for one small dog in Shearers.
