In an acre of land, this spacious, contemporary house (Visit Britain 4 stars, Gold Award), enjoys far reaching views across the unspoilt landscape of the Sussex Weald. The surrounding area provides a whole raft of activities and attractions for visitors – cycling, sailing, canoeing and fishing at the Bewl Water Outdoor Centre as well as golf courses at Dale Hill (Ian Woosnam designed course) and Lamberhurst.
This part of the East Sussex/ Kent border is also steeped in history and rich in castles, stately homes and gardens – visit Battle Abbey, site of the Battle of Hastings, Bodiam, Hever and Leeds castles, Batemans, magnificent home of Rudyard Kipling only 3 miles away, or the world famous gardens at Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. To the south and within an hour’s driving distance is a long stretch of the East Sussex coastline from The Seven Sisters Country Park near Eastbourne right across to the ancient Cinque Ports of Rye and Winchelsea.
More locally there are plenty of pretty, tucked – away villages with traditional country pubs to discover. The nearest are in Burwash, 5 minutes’ drive away. For a good range of shops and main line station to London (Charing Cross), the nearby village of Wadhurst is just 10 minutes’ drive while a little further is Tunbridge Wells (Pantiles and Roman Baths).
Sorry, no pets.
