Kilberry, Tarbert Loch
Laundry Cottage, Kilberry Castle
Whether you are looking to enjoy a traditional family seaside holiday or a romantic hideaway Laundry Cottage is an ideal choice. Situated in the grounds of Kilberry Castle, this lovely three-bedroom holiday cottage offers uninterrupted views of the Western Isles, its secluded woodland setting offering privacy and tranquility.
The cottage sits in its own fenced garden on the edge of 15 acres of woodland which surround the castle, a short walk through the wood and across a field takes you to a lovely sandy beach where you can seal and dolphin watch, explore rock pools, fish or safely swim in the clear water. In spring the wood is carpeted in snowdrops and later bluebells, filled with birdsong and there is abundant wildlife.
The area is steeped in history, ideal for walking, cycling and exploring, and the winding road from Kilberry offers a scenic spectacle in either direction. Less than one mile away in the village is the fabulous Kilberry Inn.
The cottage interior is spacious, clean, and comfortably furnished in light colours with beautiful views from all rooms. There is a well equipped kitchen with family sized table and chairs and a separate utility room with washing and drying facilities. The comfortable sitting room has an open fire for cosy evenings and the separate dining room offers room for family meals or just space to spread out. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one double and two twins, and a large bathroom.
Kilberry sits mid way between Tarbert and Lochgilphead on the B8024 in an area of outstanding natural beauty with sandy beaches and rocky headlands where you can watch spectacular sunsets. To the south is the harbour town of Tarbert where you can enjoy pony trekking, sea fishing and sailing and the coastal road down to the Mull of Kintyre takes you past the world class surfing beach and golf course at Macrahanish to the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. To the north is Kilmartin Glen with its standing stone circles and Bronze Age engravings and Dunadd Fort where the kings of the ancient Kingdom of Dalriada were crowned.
